Student Organizations for Engineering Students

For those who want to enhance their learning opportunities, the College of Engineering offers multiple student organizations. These are active, collaborative, networking groups that connect you with like-minded peers, faculty, and professionals.

There are Drexel organizations for engineers and architects interested in the building industry; for aeronautics and astronautics students; for the HVAC community; for computer students; for advanced technologies and sustainability students; and for materials engineers, among many others, including diversity-based groups like the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers.

Over 20 groups are designed for undergraduates, with an additional eight for graduate students.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

ASCE promotes greater understanding of civil engineering through speakers, workshops, conferences, professional and social events. The concrete canoe and steel bridge teams are two important facets of ASCE.

EWB is a non-profit organization that advocates sustainable engineering projects in various regions of the world. EWB partners with disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through implementation of environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects.

SWE is a diverse and active organization which focuses on stimulating women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders. Activities include outreach programs, professional speakers, social events, a weekend retreat and the annual regional and national conferences.
