College of Engineering Community Celebrates Engineers Week

From February 20 through 24, the College of Engineering joined hundreds of professional organizations, businesses and educational institutions around the United States in celebrating National Engineers Week. The goal of the week is to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. On campus, academic units and student groups organized a robust calendar of events to celebrate the impact that engineering has on the world around us and the possibilities it opens for those who study it.

Graduate students and professors shared tips on choosing the right master's or doctoral program during "The ABCS of Graduate School"
Electrical and Computer Engineering Day welcomed visitors for a tour of the Materials for Electronic Smart Systems (MESS) lab.
ECE Day also shocased student projects, like this senior design project to build a battle bot.
As part of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Day, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Drexel Robotics gave a hands-on introduction to building a robotic programming interfaces.
SWE hosted a "Cocoa and Co-op" roundtable, where students shared their experiences and advice for the co-op process.
The Drexel Steel Bridge Team, Architectural Engineering Institute and the CAEE Department challenged attendees to build the lightest, strongest bridge they could using K'Nex.
The SME student group challenged attendees to build the best tower from straws and tape.
Formula SAE hosted a racing simulator and gave insights into their race car design process.
