Eight Drexel Engineering alumni are featured in Drexel Magazine’s 10th annual “40 Under 40” list. The feature highlights young alumni for their talent, creativity, and accomplishments.
These noteworthy engineers are:
Kimberly DiGiovanni, BS, MS and PhD environmental engineering ’08, ’08 and ’13, associate teaching professor of civil engineering at Quinnipiac University, and owner and founder of Auroran Environmental LLC, a full-service environmental consulting and field sampling firm.
Pavel Gogotsi, BS engineering technology and electrical engineering ’15, lead Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations engineer at Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing company, who has worked on multiple satellites that are currently operational in space.
Kerry Hamilton, PhD environmental engineering ’16, assistant professor at the Biodesign Center for Environmental Health Engineering with a joint appointment in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University.
Johnathon Huff, MS electrical engineering ’11, director of environment, safety and health, and chief of safety at Sandia National Laboratories, one of three National Nuclear Security Administration research and development laboratories in the United States.
Andreas Kellas, BS mechanical engineering ’05, founder and CEO of MORSE Corp., a company that develops cutting-edge technology for the U.S. national security ecosystem.
Seth Kovnat, BS/MS mechanical engineering ’08, the Falcon payload accommodations lead engineer at SpaceX, who designed the heat shield used on the Dragon 2 spacecraft, among other important components.
Olha Mashtalir, PhD materials science and engineering ’15, associate research and development manager at Cabot Corporation and one of the early contributors to the discovery of MXenes.
Christian Ruoff, BS mechanical engineering ’07, founder and CEO of Charged,a media company that produces print and digital trade magazines, news website and conferences for the electric vehicle industry.
