When the Franklin Institute needed an expert in the future of battery technology for a new exhibit, they called on Drexel Materials Anne Stevens Assistant Professor Ekaterina Pomerantseva. Her cutting-edge research is part of a Now/Next gallery which explores the transformative power of batteries from electric cars to energy systems that harness the sun. Pomerantseva’s research seeks to advance the next generation of batteries so they can sustain a single charge longer, be able to tolerate high current densities, and have a longer overall life. It is sponsored by the DMR Ceramics program of the National Science Foundation.
