Drexel Materials alumnus Siddhartha Pathak (PhD 2009, advisor: Surya Kalidindi), now assistant professor of chemical and materials engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, has received the 2019 Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Award (YFA) for his project Additive Manufacturing of Functional Hierarchical Shape Memory Alloy Structures.
The YFA program recognizes and engages rising research stars early on in their careers, providing funding, mentoring and networking support so that they may develop research related to national security needs.
