Drexel Materials Distinguished University and Bach Professor Yury Gogotsi is the 2019 recipient of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Robert B. Sosman Award, given in recognition of outstanding achievement in basic science of an area that results in a significant impact to the field of ceramics.
Gogotsi will receive his award and present a plenary lecture at the ACerS Annual Meeting during the Materials Science and Technology (MS&T) Conference at the Oregon Convention Center, September 29 to October 3 in Portland OR. A Sosman Award Symposium, “From Carbides to Carbons - from Bulk to Nano,” organized by alumnus Babak Anasori (PhD, '16) will be held in conjunction with the award presentation at MS&T.
