Dr. James Shackleford Promoted to Associate Professor

Assistant Professor James Shackleford has been granted tenure and promotion to Associate Professor, effective September 1, 2018.

Professor Shackleford joined the ECE Department as an Assistant Professor in January 2013. He received his B.S. (2006), M.S. (2009) and Ph.D. (2011) from Drexel University, and served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital (2012-2013).

One of his primary focus areas of research is on registration, segmentation, and classification algorithms in image-guided radiotherapy and biomedical imaging.

Professor Shackleford received the prestigious NSF CAREER Award in 2016, entitled “Low Latency, Parallel, and Context Aware Vision in Computed Tomography,” and is the lead author of the book, “High Performance Deformable Image Registration Algorithms for Multicore Processors,” published by Morgan Kaufmann (2013).
