Dr. Steven Weber Hosts Cybersecurity Panel for Philly Tech Week

Dr. Steven Weber, professor and Interim Department Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, hosted a panel of cybersecurity experts for Philly Tech Week.  The event was organized by the Philadelphia Cybersecurity Education Association (PCEA), a new non-profit organization in which Dr. Weber serves as the Education Sector Chief. Dr. Weber credits Hillar Puskar, Secretary of PCEA and Senior Engineering Manager at Unisys, for his efforts in putting on the event.

The discussion, "The State of Cybersecurity in Philadelphia," focused on the future of cyber threats against our major infrastructure and institutions, and the talent, resources and tools required in the short- and long-term to effectively counter bad actors. The May 1, 2018 event was moderated by Brad Bowers, Lead Organizer of PCEA and AVP Security Services at Radian. Panelists included: Tom Schiavinato, Director of Network and Security Operations at Comcast; Donna Ross, CISO at Radian; Thomas Heverin, Principal Cyber Security Engineer at PFGM Solutions and an adjunct faculty here at Drexel; and Colbert Zhu, a Drexel student majoring in Computer Science and the club president of Drexel's CyberDragons.
