Dr Yury Gogotsi
Distinguished University and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Professor Yury Gogotsi has been appointed Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). Gogotsi will be inducted at the 69th Annual Meeting of ISE in Bologna, Italy, which will take place September 2-7, 2018.
Gogotsi was selected for this honor based on several significant accomplishments in the area of electrochemical research. These include the development of carbon materials for electrochemical capacitors; the understanding of desolvation of ions in micropores and double-layer in confinement; and the discovery of two-dimensional carbides and carbonitrides, called MXenes, and their electrochemical properties.
