For the third year in a row, Distinguished University and Trustee Chair Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Director of the AJ Drexel Nanomaterials Institute Yury Gogotsi has been selected as a 2016 Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics, formerly the IP & Science Business of Thomson Reuters.
Gogotsi is one of four researchers from Drexel included on the list and one of 158 materials science researchers worldwide.
According to the official website, “Essential Science IndicatorsSM (ESI), a component of the Web of Science™, tracks papers published in the last decade that by citations rank in the top 1% for their respective years of publication in each of 22 main subject fields. These are designated ‘Highly Cited Papers,’ More than 128,000 were identified for the years 2004 to 2014.” There are a total of nearly 3,100 people listed as “Highly Cited.”
