PhD students Kelsey Hatzell and Maria Lukatskaya, both advised by Yury Gogotsi, are each recipients of prestigious post-doctoral fellowships, with Kelsey named a recipient of the ITRI-Rosenfeld Postdoctoral Fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Maria selected for the 2015 Director’s Fellowship with the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division of the Argonne National Laboratory.
The ITRI-Rosenfeld Postdoctoral Fellowship was established in 2012 to allow an outstanding recent or upcoming PhD recipient to engage in innovative research leading to new and innovative energy efficiency technologies or policies and reduction of adverse energy-related environmental impacts. The fellowship has been provided with support from ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) and honors the contributions of Arthur H. Rosenfeld, PhD, fondly known as the Father of Energy Efficiency for his efforts to advance energy efficiency on a global scale.
Director’s Fellowships with the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division of the Argonne National Laboratory are granted to outstanding scientists and engineers who show potential for being leaders in their fields. Director’s Fellows are expected to “make significant contributions to Argonne’s strategic mission through existing programs or by initiating new research areas.”
