The reality of the fortepiano, the instrument Mozart actually played on that served as the precursor to the modern piano, is anything but. It is shorter, lighter, and narrower than even a modern baby grand, and looks like a miniature, black-keyed piano.

On Friday, June 5, the Freshmen Design class taught by M. Ani Hsieh, Ph.D. held a race to put their projects to the test. The TA for the class is Katie Jo Sunday.The Paper Bike Race featured human transport mechanisms designed by freshmen COE students made entirely of paper and glue.
