At the 2014 MRS Fall Meeting in Boston November 30 –December 5, 2014, PhD candidate Kelsey Hatzell (advisor: Yury Gogotsi) received the MRS Graduate Student Silver Award for a presentation on Technologies for Grid-Scale Energy Storage, as well the Arthur Nowick Graduate Student Award that recognizes a student who shows particular promise as a future teacher and mentor.
The MRS Graduate Student Awards honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high order of excellence and distinction. MRS seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for future substantial achievement in materials research. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the student and his/her research ability.
