Ph.D. student Matthew Hartshorne (advisor: Mitra Taheri) has received the 2013 Department of Defense Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship.
This award provides a full scholarship and stipend along with post-graduation employment in the Department of Defense. Matt will be studying the effects of strain on the sensitization of grain boundary engineered austenitic stainless steels and will take a position in the Air Force Research Lab upon graduating.
