Upon completion of the placement exams, some students will be placed into Math and Physics preparatory reviews and/or invited to enroll in a Chemistry preparatory review over the summer. Successful completion of the summer preparatory reviews will positively impact your course placement in MATH, PHYS, and/or CHEM for the fall term. These zero credit reviews are offered free of charge (excluding some potential costs for course materials) and will run for six weeks starting in mid-July. Each review is administered online in Blackboard Learn and can be completed at your own pace prior to their close date in late August.
Below is a list of various summer preparatory review offerings:
Elements of College Algebra: This review is equivalent to MATH 105 plus a wraparound support course (MATH 111). For traditional Engineering students, successful completion of this review will place you into MATH 116 without MATH 111 in the fall term.
Elements of Precalculus: This review is equivalent to MATH 110. Successful completion of this review will place you into MATH 121 in the fall term.
Preparatory Physics for ENGR Studies: This review is equivalent to PHYS 100. Successful completion of this review will place you into PHYS 101 in the winter or spring terms (depending on math placement).
Preparatory Chemistry: This review is equivalent to CHEM 111. Successful completion of this review will place you into CHEM 101 in the fall term.
To see which summer preparatory review(s) you are enrolled in, or invited to enroll in, please log into Drexel One. Under the Academics tab, you will see a Placement channel. Listed in this channel are your placement exam outcomes and summer review enrollment or invitation. The reviews(s) will appear in Blackboard Learn beginning in mid-July. Additional details about any review will be distributed by the instructor via email. If eligible, we strongly recommend that students complete the summer preparatory reviews.
