Urban Technical Extension leverages Drexel's resources in technological excellence to build engineering solutions alongside Philadelphia non-profits and community organizations to benefit our neighboring communities.
This program is modeled after the PeaceTech Lab’s PeaceTech Exchange program, which encourages collaboration among peacebuilders, technologists, and local participants in order to define problems, design solutions, and implement sustainable technological projects. The Urban Technical Extension will apply this framework at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships and with other Philadelphia-based partners in order to build community capacity and resolve root causes of conflict.
There will be opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students to engage within the community; those interested should stay tuned for more information coming soon.
