Awarded to a BS/MS student who has demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas: research, mentorship, leadership, teaching, and/or service. Students should be well-rounded and show evidence of making an impact in their fields as well as on the College of Engineering and broader community as a whole.

DAAD Research Intenship in Science and Engineering (RISE)

You will receive a monthly scholarship of 934 Euros (new!) for full month. The amount is calculated on a daily basis if you stay less than 23 days a month. DAAD provides health insurance, accident and personal liability insurance. All interns are invited to the three-day RISE Germany meeting in Heidelberg at the beginning of July and will receive an allowance of 160 Euros for travel to the meeting.

The Debra H. Kennoy Scholarship is intended to encourage female students to pursue studies and seek professions in the heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning industry (HVAC&R).

Dragons Abroad Scholarship - Diversity in Study Abroad

The Study Abroad Office is committed to assisting students with their study abroad program including financially. In the 2016-2017 Academic Year the Study Abroad office awarded over $66000 in student scholarships. Students can apply for Dragons Abroad Scholarships in two different categories: Diversity in Study Abroad: for students who represent groups that are underrepresented in Study Abroad which may include: race/ethnicity/nationality; gender; sexual orientation; first generation college student; major (for majors that are underrepresented in study abroad); or ‘other’ Financial Need Scholarship: for students with high financial need.

Excellence in Cooperative Education Award

Selected by members of the Alumni Board of Governors and presented annually at the Steinbright Career Development Center's Co-op Awards, this award recognizes a Drexel alum who has completed at least one co-op experience while enrolled. Nominees demonstrate excellence in their chosen fields and serve as an example of the opportunities that experiential education can provide. Nominees should also demonstrate a commitment to sustaining such opportunities for current and future Drexel students, such as through hiring co-ops.

Goldwater Scholarship

As the result of an ongoing partnership with the Department of Defense National Defense Education Programs (NDEP), Dr. John Yopp, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation, announced that the Trustees of the Goldwater Board has again been able to increase the number of Goldwater scholarships it is awarding for the 2023-2024 academic year to 413 college students from across the United States. “The Department of Defense’s continued partnership with the Goldwater Foundation ensures we are supporting the development of scientific talent essential to maintaining our Nation’s competitive advantage,” said Dr. Jagadeesh Pamulapati, Acting Deputy Director of Research, Technology and Laboratories, who oversees the NDEP program, as he explained the partnership. With the 2023 awards, this brings the number of scholarships awarded since 1989 by the Goldwater Foundation to 10,283.

Moles Scholarship

The Moles Charitable Fund provides scholarships to academically qualified and deserving students at the colleges and universities participating in The Moles Education program. Junior-year Civil Engineering students with a demonstrated interest in the Heavy Construction Industry are considered evidenced by attending the previous October's Moles Students Day and securing an internship preferably with a Moles-member's firm during the summer prior to their senior year if not earlier. Other considerations include excellent academic achievement, a recommendation by the Civil Engineering Dept. Chairman, completed services in any of the Armed Forces (Veterans) and/or participation in heavy construction-related clubs.

Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholar

Knight-Hennessy scholars develop deep domain expertise in their Stanford graduate program, and build on this domain expertise through exposure to a wide range of disciplines and cultures within the Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) community. Scholars participate in the King Global Leadership Program (KGLP), which includes workshops, lectures, projects, and experiences that strengthen transformational leadership capabilities. Through KGLP, scholars collaborate and prepare to address important challenges and opportunities facing the world, such as climate change, healthcare, government and policy, and education.

The George Hill Jr. Endowed Fellowship

The George Hill, Jr. Endowed Fellowship fund is used to provide a stipend and/or tuition assistance to a new doctoral student who will be partially supported by a research or teaching assistantship in the College of Engineering. Recipients have demonstrated excellence in their undergraduate and graduate careers and the potential to achieve academic excellence at the PhD level. New students are notified of awards at the time of their acceptance into the program and at the request of their advisor or department.
