Diagnostic Testing

At the Drexel Student Health Center, diagnostic testing is an important part of how we evaluate symptoms and guide your care.

Whether you’re feeling under the weather or coming in for routine screening, we offer convenient access to a range of testing services right on Drexel’s campus. Our health center features an on-site laboratory that allows for efficient testing and timely results. Common diagnostic services include:

  • Bloodwork and Routine Lab Testing – To assess overall health, screen for conditions, and monitor ongoing treatment

  • Urinalysis – Used for diagnosing urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney concerns, and dehydration

  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs) – To assess heart rhythm and evaluate certain cardiovascular symptoms

  • Throat Cultures and Rapid Testing – For illnesses like strep throat and other infections

  • Flu and Other Respiratory Testing – To evaluate cold and flu-like symptoms

  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening – For students who need testing as part of Drexel's Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI/STD) Testing – Confidential testing as part of our sexual health services

These services are available during your visit and help providers quickly assess your condition and next steps.

Off-Site Diagnostic Referrals

For more advanced imaging or specialized diagnostics, we coordinate referrals to external facilities. These may include:

  • X-rays, CT scans, and MRI imaging
  • Specialty diagnostic evaluations (e.g., cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology)

Coverage and costs for these services depend on your health insurance plan.
