Minor Procedures

At the Drexel Student Health Center, we offer a range of minor, office-based procedures to treat common conditions quickly and conveniently, often without the need for a referral or visit to an outside provider.

Minor Procedures We Offer

Our providers offer a variety of office-based procedures to address everyday health concerns quickly and safely. Services include:

  • Cuts and lacerations: Evaluation, cleaning, and stitches (suturing) for minor cuts

  • Wound care: Dressing changes, follow-up care, and treatment of minor burns or scrapes

  • Suture or staple removal

  • Skin conditions: Removal or treatment of minor lesions, rashes, or infections

  • Abscesses or localized infections: Incision and drainage when appropriate

  • Ear concerns: Earwax removal and basic evaluations

  • Ingrown nails or minor nail injuries

  • Musculoskeletal injuries: Initial evaluation and supportive care for sprains or strains, including crutches, walking boots, and wraps. While we do not offer on-site X-ray services, we can coordinate referrals for imaging or specialized care as needed

What to Expect

  • Evaluation first: Every procedure begins with a clinical assessment to ensure it can
    be safely treated on-site.

  • Quick and convenient care: Many minor procedures, including stitches, can be
    completed during your appointment.

  • Referral if needed: If your condition requires specialized care, we will coordinate
    referrals to appropriate providers.
