Biography

Boris Valerstein, MS is an assistant teaching professor in Drexel CCI's Department of Computer Science. Previously, Valerstein served as software developer at University of Pennsylvania Health System, AWeber and Vanguard, and as a professor of computer science at Bucks County Community College. He is a strong proponent of Test Driven Development (TDD; as well as ATDD and BDD), XP, Agile (Scrum / Kanban), and Shift Left. He currently serves as a Technical TDD Coach at Vanguard with a strong emphasis on Agile and Shift Left processes. An advocate of integrating TDD into the classroom, Valerstein recently taught a course on TDD and XP at Penn State Abington. He also emphasizes using Virtual Reality in the classroom, having served on Bucks County Community College VR committee which worked on combining VR with instruction.
