Joining hundreds of educational institutions across the nation, Drexel and the College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) is proud to host its seventh annual Computer Science Education Week celebration to raise awareness of the vital role computer science education holds in a world where computer software underlies our economy, our national infrastructure and every device we use.

Monday, November 17

UPE Induction Ceremony
4:00 – 6:00 p.m. @ Behrakis Grand Hall North, Creese Student Center, 32nd & Chestnut Streets

Drexel’s chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), international honor society for the computing and information disciplines. All UPE alumni and CCI students are invited to attend to celebrate the newest class. 

Wednesday, November 19

An Hour of Code with St. Francis de Sales School
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. @ 917 S. 47th Street, Philadelphia, Pa.

Drexel University’s student tech volunteer organization DUCSTeach will be working with middle school students at St. Francis de Sales School on introductory computer science activities designed to demystify “code” and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator or an innovator.  
This is a closed event, only members of DUCSTeach can participate.

Computing Quizzo Trivia Game and Reception
5:00 – 7:00 p.m. @ Slainte Pub & Grill, 3000 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pa.

The History of Computing at Drexel – ‘Going National’ Documentary Screening
7:30 p.m. @ Ross Commons, 2nd Floor, 34th & Powelton Streets, Philadelphia, Pa.

Join Drexel TechServ for a viewing of the 1985 documentary, “Going National with Apple Computers." The film was produced by David Jones, former Dean of Pennoni Honors College. This film demonstrates the transformation that occurred in the mid-1980s when Drexel required students to have microcomputers – a first in higher education. TechServ will also have early Drexel-branded Macintosh computers for display.
