Biography

Hegler Tissot has been dedicating his career to computer science, more recently focusing his research in Health Informatics. He has been mostly working with information systems, databases, and knowledge engineering. With over 30 years of experience, he worked in designing large transactional and analytical database systems in many industry sectors. He also has large experience in data mining and data visualization techniques, both applied in several projects within the Financial, Telecom and Healthcare industry sectors, the latter for more than 15 years.

Research Interests

His main interests in Data Science range from Knowledge Representation, Reasoning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Ontologies, Pattern Recognition, Statistical Analysis, and Information Extraction. His research is mostly focused on applying those technologies to unlock clinical evidence from patient data and improve healthcare related services within the clinical domain, targeting the design and development of clinical predictive and risk assessment models.
