Biography
Karthik S. Bhat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science at Drexel University's College of Computing & Informatics (CCI). His research is positioned at the intersections of human-computer interaction (HCI), healthcare, and technology-enabled care work. Broadly, he studies how emerging technologies can best augment health and care work. His research focuses on how societal, cultural, and socioeconomic factors influence the adoption and anticipated outcomes of emerging healthcare technologies, and how best new technology-mediated care workflows could be designed to better support healthcare provision. His work has been published at premier HCI venues including ACM Conferences on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), and has received Best Paper and Honorable Mention awards at CSCW.
