Biography

Augenblick's teaching interests include introductory and object-oriented programming, data structures and database systems, computer application project management, the application of computer programming principles and solutions to engineering problems. Augenblick, who joined Drexel University's faculty in 2007, previously taught in Drexel's Evening College of Professional Studies (1984-2006) where he was the recipient of the Stanley J. Gwiazda Professorship in 2003-2004 for teaching excellence. In addition to his experience at Drexel, Augenblick worked in the oil industry at Sunoco for 33 years (1974-2007) as a chemical engineer/systems consultant, where he also held a wide variety of positions, including manager of systems development project management team, manager of numerous major refinery computer application implementation projects and senior business consultant for project justification.

Academic Distinctions

  • Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, with concentration in Information Systems Technology from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Columbia University. Elected into Tau Beta Pi and Phi Lambda Upsilon honor societies, Recipient of Faculty Scholar Award (highest GPA in Engineering School – 1967).
