Hazel Murphy, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Neurobiology & Anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine, and serves as director of the Medical Neurosciences course. She has been with Drexel and its predecessor organizations since 1976.

Prior to that, she completed postdoctoral studies in neurophysiology at Stanford University, and then served on the faculty at the University of Chicago from 1971 to 1976, including chairing the Division of Biopsychology from 1975 to 1976.

Dr. Murphy's research interests are focused on CNS development, and on mechanisms that control the effects of in utero drug exposure on the developing CNS.
