Michael C. Wright, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who sees adult patients in Center City Philadelphia with the Tower Health Medical Group Vine Street. Dr. Wright’s approach to treatment is largely psychodynamic and relational. Coming from this approach, he is often interested in patients’ experiences of themselves and of important others, with particular attention to problematic attachments or patterns that have emerged. He also integrates other techniques into his psychotherapy work using ideas from feminist theory, humanistic approaches and trauma-informed models. Dr. Wright also has a background in clinical social work, and he sees considerations of social identity and systemic oppression as paramount in conducting affirmative work with his patients.

Michael C. Wright, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine. In his role, Dr. Wright works directly in patient care in addition to supervising and teaching clinical predoctoral psychology students. He oversees the psychology practicum at Tower Health Medical Group Vine Street, which accepts four to six students annually for a supervised externship focused on psychotherapy and psychological assessment within a community mental health population.
