General Recommendation

The successful resumption of research activities will require collaborative decision-making but will primarily reside at the College/School level – where the detailed knowledge of the varied research activities resides.  As such, Colleges/School may consider the implementation of the following initiatives to guide this process

  • Consider the development of a College/School “Research Ramp up Principles and Framework” to defining guiding directives and principles  (see COM Example in Resources section)

  • Creation of an identification of a Point of Contact or Committee to provide guidance through the return to research process

  • Creation of communication plan for sharing return to research process to all faculty

  • Development of a plan that outlines the framework for evaluating, prioritization and approving requests for research resumption.

  • Identification of monitoring and tracking processes to ensure continued maintenance of required safety guidelines

  • Communication with Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety regarding facilities, custodial and chemical/biological/clinical safety.
