Nielufar Varjavand, MD, is a professor of medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She has focused her career on graduate medical education of students, residents and physicians returning to clinical medicine.

Dr. Varjavand is the program director of Drexel's Physician Refresher/Reentry Course (since 2006), director of Global Health Education, which includes the Medical Spanish elective (since 2014) as well as a research scholars track; she is also co-director of Case-Based Learning for first-year medical students. Previously, she assumed leadership positions for the Physician and Patient Course, Clinical Skills for Program for Integrated Learning, and Introduction to Clinical Medicine.

Dr. Varjavand sits on the board of directors of the Coalition for Physician Enhancement, a consortium of professionals with expertise in quality assurance, medical education and the assessment, licensing and accreditation of referred physicians seeking higher levels of performance in patient care.

Research

Dr. Varjavand's research interests include physician reentry, partner violence, and medical errors/quality of care for which she has had multiple publications and presentations at national and regional medical conferences.
