Global Health Education Student Experiences Simone Udeh

Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lagos & Enugu, Nigeria

I was at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lagos & Enugu, Nigeria. My project (for the Scholars Track) was focused on individuals who were being treated for substance use disorder with a focus on opioid use disorder. Lagos has recently been having problems with opioid use, especially with tramadol due to its being highly available and easy to get without a prescription. I worked with the pharmacy and clinical team to have individuals complete a survey about their substance use and their desire to learn about harm reduction methods.
