Executive Steering Committee (ESC)
The direction of the Institute is guided by the Executive Steering Committee composed of leadership expertise from the administrative offices of Drexel University and all participating colleges, schools, and institutes of Drexel University. The appointments are for renewable two-year terms of office. This offers both the opportunity for continuity of membership and for flexibility for change. The Executive Steering Committee meets twice per year. One of these meetings is held in conjunction with the External Review Board. The ESC is chaired by the Director of the Institute for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Disease.
Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC)
The outreach, education, research, and recruitment activities of the Institute are guided by the Scientific Advisory Committee composed of all directors of the Institute Research Centers of Excellence (RCEs). The appointments are for renewable two-year terms of office. This offers both the opportunity for continuity of membership and for flexibility for change. The Institute SAC meets quarterly. The Institute SAC is chaired by the Director of the Institute for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Disease.
External Scientific Review Board (ESRB)
The Institute is reviewed on a regular basis by an external Review Board composed of members representing expertise in virology, immunology, parasitology, infectious disease and clinical medicine, bacteriology, therapeutics, biodefense, molecular and human genetics, and animal model development. A sub-committee of the board meets annually with the Executive Advisory Committee. Members of the board will serve as expert consultants. Appointments will be made for three year intervals and additional members will be added as needed to obtain the breadth of expertise required to advise the Institute leadership.
