IBM SPSS Statistics is a leading statistical software with a powerful set of analysis, modeling, visualization, and survey research tools.

Install SPSS Statistics

Install on a Drexel-owned PC

  Note: If you're working from off campus, you'll need to connect to Drexel's Virtual Private Network (VPN) before you can install SPSS Statistics from Software Center.

  1. Do one of the following, depending on which version of Windows is running on your PC:
    • In Windows 11, select Start  > All apps > Software Center.
    • In Windows 10, select Start  > Microsoft Endpoint Manager > Software Center.
  2. Under Applications, select IBM SPSS Statistics > Install.

Install on a Drexel-owned Mac

  1. Go to Finder > Applications > Self Service.
  2. Sign in with Drexel Connect.
  3. Under Browse, select All.
  4. Locate SPSS Statistics and select Install.

Install on a personal-owned PC

  1. Download the SPSS installer from OnTheHub. For more info, see Download software from OnTheHub.
  2.   Note: SPSS Statistics is available from OnTheHub for personal computers for academic teaching, learning, and research use. Professional staff that need SPSS for administrative, operational, and institutional research use must use SPSS on their Drexel-owned device and must install SPSS from Software Center on PC or Self Service on Mac.

  3. Once the download has completed, double-click (or double-tap) the downloaded installer.
  4. If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, select Yes. You might need to enter an administrator username and password.
  5. On the first installation screen, select Next to begin the installation process.
  6. Review the software license agreement. Choose I accept the terms in the license agreement to agree to the license terms, and then select Next.
  7. Review the install location or change your install location, and then select Next.
  8. Select Install to begin the installation.
  9. Select Finish when the installation is finished.

Install on a personal-owned Mac

  1. Download the SPSS installer from OnTheHub. For more info, see Download software from OnTheHub.
  2.   Note: SPSS Statistics is available from OnTheHub for personal computers for academic teaching, learning, and research use. Professional staff that need SPSS for administrative, operational, and institutional research use must use SPSS on their Drexel-owned device and must install SPSS from Software Center on PC or Self Service on Mac.

  3. Once the download has completed, double-click the downloaded installer.
  4. On the first installation screen, select Continue to begin the installation process.
  5. On the second installation screen, select Continue.
  6. Review the software license agreement. Select Continue, and then select Agree to agree to the license terms.
  7. Review the disk space requirements, and then select Install.
  8. Enter your Mac login password, if prompted, and then select Install Software.
  9. Select Close when the installation is finished.

Activate SPSS Statistics on a personal-owned PC or Mac

  1. Open the SPSS Statistics app:
    • If you have a Windows 11 PC, select Start  > All apps > IBM SPSS Statistics > IBM SPSS Statistics.
    • If you have a Windows 10 PC, select Start  > IBM SPSS Statistics > IBM SPSS Statistics.
    • If you have a Mac, Go to Finder > Applications > IBM SPSS Statistics > SPSS Statistics.
  2. On the Activate IBM SPSS Statistics screen, select Launch License Wizard.
  3.   Note: Don't see an Activate IBM SPSS Statistics screen after opening SPSS? Select File > Manage License > Launch License Wizard to open the License Wizard.

  4. On the Product Authorization screen, select Authorized user license, and then select Next.
  5. Enter your license code from OnTheHub, and then select Add.
  6. Select Next to start activating.
  7. Select Next when the activation is finished.
  8. Select Finish.
