Lists Not Maintained by IT
Lists with Closed Subscription
Some lists are NOT maintained by IT; to subscribe to or unsubscribe from non-IT lists with closed subscription services, you must contact the respective list owners. If you don't know who manages the list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the list you are trying to unsubscribe from and the Mailing List team will check the ownership for you.
If no list name is associated with the email, forward the email to us at email@example.com and we will assist you in tracking down your subscription. Not all emails come through ListServ lists, and some might be manually maintained outside our system.
Lists with Open Subscription
At Drexel University, there are a handful of lists that offer self-subscription and unsubscription services. Anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can join or leave these "open" lists. Subscribing or unsubscribing from an open list requires the use of email commands sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To subscribe to an open list, the user sends the following email command to email@example.com:
"Listname" is the name of the list the user is subscribing to. The subject field is left blank, and no other text should appear in the message body except for the above command. If ListServ requests confirmation for the subscription, confirm the command by clicking the link provided in the message.
Be sure to send the subscription command from the account you want subscribed.
To unsubscribe from a list, the email command is as follows:
If you have any issues unsubscribing from a list, contact the Mass Mailing team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
