Learn more about Adobe's discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced files
What are synced files?
Creative Cloud has enabled users to save files on their local devices in a folder called Creative Cloud Files and the contents of this folder can be synced to the user's cloud storage. Files can be accessed locally on the device or through the Creative Cloud website (Files > Launch more > Synced files).
What does this mean for me?
- Starting October 1, 2024, Adobe will begin discontinuation of the Creative Cloud desktop synchronization service and the folder and file sharing capabilities of synced files.
- Files in your Creative Cloud Files folder on your device will no longer be copied to Adobe's cloud storage.
- Files and folders shared from Synced files will no longer be accessible by others inside our organization or externally.
- Adobe will begin to remove the Synced files section on the Creative Cloud website and permanently delete the assets within the Synced files cloud storage folder.
- All assets in your Creative Cloud Files folder on your device will remain intact and under your complete control. You can leave the assets in the Creative Cloud Files folder, move your assets to another folder on your device, or move your assets to Microsoft OneDrive to sync across your devices.
- After Synced files are discontinued, new Creative Cloud users will not have the option to use Creative Cloud file syncing and related cloud storage.
- Storage and syncing with Adobe's Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, Lightroom cloud storage, and Frame.io cloud storage are not impacted by this change.
