VPN for Windows
Note: VPN connection requires Multifactor Authentication (MFA). Learn how to set up MFA.
You can connect to Drexel's VPN on your Windows device with Cisco Secure Client.
Install Cisco Secure Client for Windows
- Go to https://vpn.drexel.edu.
- At the Microsoft 365 sign-in page, sign in with your Drexel account and verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication.
- Select Download for Windows.
- Once the download has completed, double-click (or double-tap) the downloaded installer.
- On the first installation screen, select Next to begin the installation process.
- Review the license agreement. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement to agree to the license terms, and then select Next.
- Select Install to begin the installation.
- If you see the User Account Control prompt that says, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, select Yes. You might need to enter an administrator username and password.
- Select Finish when the installation is finished.
Connect to VPN
- Open the Cisco Secure Client app:
- If you have a Windows 11 PC, select Start > All apps > Cisco Secure Client.
- If you have a Windows 10 PC, select Start > Cisco Secure Client.
- Enter vpn.drexel.edu and then select Connect.
Tip: Cisco Secure Client will remember the VPN server address so you won't need to enter it again.
- Enter your Drexel username and password, verify your sign-in with multifactor authentication, and then select OK.
Disconnect from VPN
Best practices advise to always disconnect when you no longer need to access the internal Drexel network.
Disconnect from Cisco Secure Client
- Open Cisco Secure Client and select Disconnect.
Disconnect from the taskbar
- In the system tray area of the taskbar, right-click (or press and hold) the Cisco Secure Client icon and select Disconnect.
