The Office of International Programs is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges, focusing this year on GENDER, Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Behrakis Grand Hall. This full day conference will bring together a multi-disciplinary group of students, academics, and activists at Drexel to address a diverse set of issues related to this year’s topic of GENDER.

Male. Female. Transgender. XX. XY. XXY. Masculinities. Femininities.
How do we live and define sex and gender in 2014 and beyond? Innovations in science and technology combined with shifting social and political forces impact contemporary understandings of gender. This conference offers students opportunities to share their research and engage in critical reflection and dialogue about sex and gender as it relates to the diverse disciplines of health, education, science, human rights, technology, medicine, law, media, economics, politics, culture and history.

Student panelists will generate their own panel presentations and participate in question and answer sessions facilitated by faculty moderators. The Conference Schedule is:

The conference will include two exciting keynote addresses by Dr. Tererai Trent, evaluation specialist and Oprah’s all-time favorite guest and Dr. Rashad Shabazz, expert in the geographies of gender and racism.
