ABOUT THE STUDENT CONFERENCE ON GLOBAL CHALLENGES

The Office of Global Engagement is pleased to announce the 14th Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges. This year, the conference was held during the Week of Undergraduate Excellence on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Some of the biggest global challenges that we face today, such as climate change, healthcare, security, justice & equity, access to food and clean water, education, and infrastructure are being approached with sustainable solutions, creative technologies, and a commitment to community engagement. With increasing global interdependence, we need to tackle these challenges both locally and globally and from a variety of different perspectives – scientific, economic, political, social, and cultural.

With this in mind, Drexel University's Office of Global Engagement’s 14th Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges had the theme of “Disaster!” The conference gives undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to present their research and engage in critical dialogue regarding the multitude of perils that impact society's well-being --  from climate and natural disasters to pandemic and economic threats.
