Academic Safety Training
Drexel University has linked safety training to course registration. The system will assign safety training to students who register for courses that have laboratory, clinical, or medical components. Faculty and teaching assistants are assigned the same training requirements.
The system sends an email to all individuals requiring training. This email details the required courses and instructs the individual to log into the BioRAFT system using his or her Drexel credentials to complete the required training. The emails are sent at the beginning of each academic term. The training must be completed prior to the start of the class. Faculty and teaching assistants will review the training compliance. You will not be permitted in the class if the training is incomplete.
In order to receive credit for completion you must complete the quiz at the end of the course. The system will provide a certificate of completion for each safety course. The certificates are saved in the system but can be printed at any time. The certificates can be accessed by expanding the “Training” menu on the left navigation bar and clicking on “My Training.”
The training is required annually for all individuals registered for classes that have a laboratory, clinical, or medical component. The training system will carry over completion certificates each quarter for each safety course until your compliance status is expired on the annual training due date. The system will notify you one month in advance when your compliance is about to expire. You can access the system at any time to redo any of the training courses. The system will record the new annual training certification date upon completion. You do not have to wait until the system resets your training account or your status is non-compliant.
