Traffic Advisory: Market Street Projects
- PennDOT Market Street Bridges Rehabilitation: From July 20-23, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., I-76 West will be closed and detoured between the 30th Street and I-676 interchanges for bridge construction. From July 20 through Aug. 20, the center lane will be closed on Market Street between Schuylkill Avenue and 30th Street for utility construction. Please allow extra time when traveling along the detour route or through the work areas. On Aug. 24, the Market Street bridge is expected to close to vehicular traffic until October 2027. - SEPTA 34th Street Station Improvements: Traffic control and lane restrictions on Market Street near the 34th Street subway station are expected from winter 2026 through spring 2027.
Drexel University offers free shuttle bus service across its three Philadelphia campuses, as well as temporary transportation assistance for students, faculty and professional staff with mobility disabilities. Drexel also provides charter services to departments and recognized student organizations (submit a Transportation Request Form [PDF] for charter services at least one week in advance of the date needed).
