The two main passenger elevators in Academic Building (55) are out of service. Several repair attempts to elevator 1 have failed and now components of elevator 2 have failed. Both elevators have operated beyond their useful life and replacement parts are no longer available. All components of both elevators need to be replaced which will take several months due to lead times on the components as well as the time it takes to perform the replacements. During this time, the small passenger elevator to the left of the main elevators, as well as the freight elevator towards the back of the building, will remain operational. Thank you for your patience during this extended replacement.

Facilities will be conducting a steam shutdown to address leaks at the intersections of 33rd & Arch Sts. and Race and Spangler Sts. With this, steam service will be interrupted to Kelly Hall, Van Rensselaer Hall, Ross Commons, Rush Building, and Academic Building. Domestic hot water and heat to the buildings will be turned off. The buildings will retain heat during this outage, however hot water for showers will dissipate. Residential students are being messaged separately with options. Updates will be shared as they become available. For the remaining two days, steam will be turned off at 5:00AM each morning and restored by 5:00PM each evening. Thank you.

Domestic water will be shut off in the following buildings to run a required test of the backflow preventer devices: -Ross Commons (18) 5:00am - 5:30am -Race Street Residence Hall (29) 5:30am - 6:00am -Language & Communication Center (48) 8:00am - 8:30am -URBN Annex (72) 8:30am - 9:00am

Deionized water will be shutoff in the building while plumbers make repairs to the system. Domestic water throughout the building (bathrooms, water fountians) will still be available during this time.
