The two main passenger elevators in Academic Building (55) are out of service. Several repair attempts to elevator 1 have failed and now components of elevator 2 have failed. Both elevators have operated beyond their useful life and replacement parts are no longer available. All components of both elevators need to be replaced which will take several months due to lead times on the components as well as the time it takes to perform the replacements. During this time, the small passenger elevator to the left of the main elevators, as well as the freight elevator towards the back of the building, will remain operational. Thank you for your patience during this extended replacement.

Buildings which are currently running on the temporary generator at Ludlow street (full list below) will be placed back on the permanent PECO electrical grid between the hours of 5pm-8pm, Monday 3/24/25. If you have equipment sensitive to electrical outages, please power down the equipment prior to the 5pm shutdown Monday.
