Office Workstation Ergonomics

Incorporating ergonomics into your office will improve your productivity, make you more comfortable, and prevent stress and injury.

Over the recent years, the University has transitioned some departments to work remotely a few days a week. This required many employees to create work environments in their home. Sitting behind a desk in a home or utilizing a laptop on the couch can surprisingly be exhausting for the body. Learning about the importance of ergonomics in your home office is essential to remaining comfortable and productive. The standard operating procedure for Ergonomics [PDF] provides some additional tips on proper ergonomics.

Employees can download the Office Workstation Ergonomics Checklist [PDF] to conduct a self-assessment of the workstation.

Ergonomic assessments can be scheduled by contacting EHRS. The assessment can be performed virtually for off campus offices or in-person for on campus offices.
