Marissa Seybert, David DeLeon, Andy Wells, Caleb Paioletti and Sean Cornish won second place ($300 cash prize) at the poster competition at the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Mid-Atlantic Conference at Villanova on April 11th, 2015 and second place at the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) student professional development conference at Temple University on April 18th 2015.
The students developed a prototype for an educational device in MEM 435 in Fall 2014 and continued to refine the prototype through MEM 399 in Winter 2015. The team has developed a product for The Franklin Institute to use during K-12 educational programs. Their product teaches the physics and anatomical principles of how a human eye focuses light using a crystalline lens.
