Dean authors editorials for American Journal of Public Health

April 1, 2016

Ana Diez Roux, MD, PhD, MPH, Dean and Distinguished University Professor of Epidemiology, authored two editorials recently published in the American Journal of Public Health. In the March issue, Diez Roux describes recent activity in the study of neighborhoods and neighborhood factors related to health and suggests promising directions for place-based interventions to improve health. The April issue of AJPH features an editorial, “On the Distinction—or Lack of Distinction—Between Population Health and Public Health,” in which Dean Diez Roux deconstructs the varied and increasing uses of the term ‘population health’ and highlights the types of multilevel and interdisciplinary approaches that are needed to improve population health.
