Carla Capone, MS
Carla Capone is a predoctoral intern at Drexel University Counseling Center and a clinical psychology doctoral candidate at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her master's degree in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Penn State University. Carla has prior experience conducting individual and group therapy in college counseling, community mental health, and substance use treatment centers. She has a particular interest in working with individuals with concerns related to borderline personality disorder (BPD), such as interpersonal difficulties, emotion regulation, anger, and/or self-harm.
Carla practices therapy from a psychodynamic framework that emphasizes understanding our personalities in the context of relationships. Her style focuses on noticing and exploring relational patterns that have developed over time. Together with her clients, she aims to co-create a safe, trustworthy, and comfortable space where authenticity and vulnerability can evolve and grow.
As a local to Philadelphia, Carla enjoys walking around the city, trying out all the new restaurants, cooking for her pals, practicing yoga, and collecting new vinyls.
