Sara Aigen MA, LMHC

2023-2024 Doctoral Intern

Sara Aigen, MA, earned her Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness at New York University in 2017 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in counseling psychology at Seton Hall University. She has trained in a diverse range of settings including private practice, academia, hospitals, and Veterans Affairs.

Sara has been working with college students for several years, with training experience at both Kingsborough Community College and Pace University’s counseling centers. Sara is trained in several modalities but believes more than anything in the strength of the client–therapist relationship. She understands that while some concerns may be addressed through brief interventions, others require longer term work to generate lasting change. Her therapeutic style is warm and collaborative. Sara's clinical interests include the mind-body connection, life transitions and adjustment, anxiety, and depression. Sara is also a part of the Peer Counseling program at the counseling center.

Outside of work Sara spends her time baking banana bread, watching reality TV, chasing after her toddler Pia, and finding the best iced matcha in her neighborhood.
