A poster project requires research, which students learn to apply into their design. The research includes finding the history of the typeface. In addition, students must look into the historical, cultural and/or political backgrounds and how these components might have influenced both designer and their typefaces. “Research” for designers must include visual research. How these pieces transform into their final design was guided through exercises that are designed for students to explore and to discover their own creative solutions.
