The book explores reasons why Asian students are outpacing their American counterparts in their education outcomes and key takeaways on how to bring the best of Asia’s education and parenting philosophies to American schools and homes.

Dawn Montecalvo leads the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, Florida. The center is committed to providing children of Immokalee access to high-quality, innovative academic and special support programs strategically designed to start from six weeks of age and continue through college graduation. The organization's focus is on the most critical periods of a child's education: early education, reducing the achievement gap, and college preparation and success. Mrs. Montecalvo will provide information about the successes of her center as well as her perspective on systemic issues in education.
