Caring for Vulnerable Children for 150 Years: St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children
Founded as a charitable pediatric ambulatory clinic in 1875, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children now provides state-of-the-art care for children in Northeast Philadelphia, and is home to a Level I pediatric trauma center and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, as well as the only dedicated pediatric burn center in the region. The hospital was purchased by Drexel and Tower Health in 2019.
“This milestone is a testament to St. Christopher’s enduring legacy of care and its deep-rooted connection to the community,” says Robert M. Brooks, FACHE, president and interim chief executive officer at St. Christopher’s. “For 150 years, our incredible team of caregivers has gone above and beyond to make a lasting impact and ensure every child in our community has access to world-class care.”
