The 27th annual Drexel University College of Medicine Pediatric AIDS Benefit Concert, held February 1, was again a success, bringing in $32,000 this year for children living with HIV and AIDS, with donations still being accepted.

As of the 2019 concert, the event has raised more than $600,000 for the patients of the Dorothy Mann Center for Pediatric and Adolescent HIV at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

The annual gathering of the College of Medicine's talented students and faculty featured unique and entertaining performances by soloists, bands, a cappella singers and dance groups, a silent auction and dinner buffet. Attendees included Drexel medical students, graduate students and faculty, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children representatives, physicians, alumni, and students from nearby medical schools. The 2020 ticket sales, totaling 546, exceeded last year's by 80 guests.

The Dorothy Mann Center for Pediatric and Adolescent HIV at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is the largest of its kind in the tri-state area. It provides comprehensive care, including social services, to children infected with HIV and their families. The money raised by the students through donations, ticket sales and silent auction helps provide affected families with emergency funds for housing, utilities, food and rent, and helps to offset other expenses such as college application fees and supplies for summer camp.

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, now owned by a partnership of Tower Health and Drexel University, is a vital resource of health and healing, medical education and research, and is relied upon by the children and families in its Philadelphia neighborhood and the broader region.
