The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust supports basic medical heart-related research; grants seeking such support are due to the sponsor by September 15, 2011 (note that cancer and AIDS research have a different deadline).

Because the number of proposals that can be submitted to the Trust are limited for each institution, Drexel will hold an internal competition to determine which proposal will be submitted on behalf of the University.

For this purpose, investigators should submit a two-page summary of their proposed project together with NIH style biosketches for the PI and co-PIs (if any). Font size must be no smaller than 11 pt Arial; appendices are not permitted.  

Investigators should also state if they have received prior W. W. Smith support on the cover page, which is not part of the 2-page limit.

Internal proposals must be submitted as a single PDF file to:

research@drexel.edu

The file name must contain the name of the PI.  The subject line of the submission must contain "W.W. Smith Proposal."

Internal proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011.
