Stacy Ellen, DO, is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine. She also serves as assistant dean of medical student affairs, advising students on the Queen Lane and West Reading Campuses.
Dr. Ellen has served as the assistant director of fourth-year education in pediatrics since 2013. In this role she oversaw fourth-year rotations for Drexel students and visiting students rotating at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. In 2015 she created the senior elective Outpatient Pediatrics and Advocacy and has directed it since. She was awarded a Golden Apple award for her teaching in this course in 2019. Dr. Ellen has precepted in the third-year Professionalism Formation curriculum and Foundations of Patient Care 1, is a Bridging the Gaps Academic Preceptor and Special Interest Group Advisor, among other teaching and mentoring roles. She recently participated in Cohort 9 of the Educational Scholars Program through the Academic Pediatrics Association, graduating the program in April 2022.
Most notably, Dr. Ellen has proudly served as the Pediatric Pathway director since 2018. In this role she has mentored between 21 and 32 medical students per academic year as they enter pediatrics, medicine pediatrics, child neurology and other combined programs. Since fall of 2019, Dr. Ellen has also been the Primary Care Pathway director for the Pediatric Residency program and enjoys career mentoring and advising throughout the learner continuum.
